The only shade of Grey I like is Sasha.

Being a 20something comes with upsights no girl or woman can ever foresee. One of those upsights is that we feel secure enough to come clean about our sexual preferences and how we fulfil our desires.
Even though it was a little awkward at first, me and my girls have definitely come to a point where it's totally normal for us to discuss our do's and don'ts in the bedroom, as well as our turnon's and -off's. So why not discuss how we fix ourselves?
Remember when you were 17 and this one friend had the balls to admit that yes, in fact, she had watched porn with her boyfriend before.
Oh how she was judged.
The things said about her ranged from "such a slut" to "I bet she only does it for him" to "I don't get what she likes about it".
Every excuse in the book was pulled out to make her feel bad for doing something that comes so natural to us now. Thankfully we're all grown up and our 17-year old selves would be completely grossed out if they heard the smut we talk these days.
So here I am, ready to tell you about my favorite pornstar. Just because I can.

The first porn names to ever become "known" to me were names like Jenna Jameson, Tracy Lane and Jenna Haze. All of them are famous for their roles in parodies and movies by let's say 'Private'.
They didn't stick with me. None of them mattered much to me or made me feel like I could relate to whatever trick they pulled in their films. Sure: they got me off (and how!), but it wasn't completely satisfactory.
As I grew in my sexuality: so did my taste in porn evolve.
I've dabbled my feet in some pretty muddy porn-waters. I've seen some stuff that would send your average horndog running for the hills. But it wasn't until Sasha Grey came into view that I fell in love.
From the very first scene I saw her in: I was immediately hooked.
What started out as a crush solely based on what she looks like quickly developed into an obsession with almost everything she did.

Sasha Grey is by no means a "vanilla" pornstar. She has done scenes that surpass my darkest fantasies and desires by miles and miles! Yet, that is not the reason I've grown to like her work so much. It's the woman that is behind the smutty facade that makes it worth my while.
In a documentary about what it's like to work as a pornstar in LA (9 to 5 days in porn) Sasha's first producer talks about how she got into the shady business that is adult entertainment. It's a story like no other, because contrary to 80% of the people getting into the business, Sasha knew very well what she was getting herself into and did not shy away from any taboos surrounding the subject.
Not only was she prepared to push the boundaries of what is considered mainstream, her aim to make women more accepting of their own desires -no matter how "perverted" those desires may be- and live them is what made me into a real fan.

Even though Sasha is now retired from porn (can you imagine: retired and financially secured at the age of 25?!), she's still an activist for female pornstars, works on an entire array of different, non-pornographic projects and is now a celebrated novelist.
My final say on the matter is this:
Sasha Grey singlehandedly changed the way I look at porn. She was my escape from the mainstream movies and taught me that it's okay to sometimes want to color outside of the lines.
I won't do anything she does anytime soon (for various reasons I know that that level of sexual freedom isn't for me) but I'm no longer afraid to admit that in fact yes, I can be a smutty lustful creature and nobody should judge me for it!
