Yesterday I came home late from work and my boyfriend had bought a few rolls of sushi for me. Like usual I devoured these within two minutes because yeah I’m an addict.

Problem is, every time I eat this piece of heavenly food, I get nightmares. Not a great bonus if you ask me.
But I will never swear off sushi, even if I get eaten by giant spiders or get haunted by creepy fairies.

So I started to wonder, how is this possible? Why am I getting these scary as hell nightmares? Why only with sushi? One of my friends suggested that it must be my subconscious telling me that the sea is getting emptied just for my sushi. But no way that my subconscious would screw me over like that! We’re friends , not enemies okay?! And so my quest for answers begun..
"When you eat, your metabolism revs up to digest the food, and in turn causes your body temperature to rise. The process of digestion increases brain activity, which can interrupt a normal sleep pattern. The effects of the brain activity can interfere with the REM (rapid eye movement) part of sleep, where the majority of dreams and nightmares occur, which is around 90 minutes into sleep. REM is also when your eyelids begin to flutter and your muscles relax because the brain is so active." (http://www.kitchendaily.com/read/can-certain-foods-cause-nightmares)
But to be absolutely sure of everything that is written, I will sacrifice myself as test subject and I shall report back to you! The following weeks I shall try :
- Spicy food
- Sushi
- Cheese
- An enormous amount of Alcohol
- A pile of desserts
- ...
So stay posted for my crazy adventures!
