My Cats : Sushi , Shiva & Cheeto Scavenger the first
Yes. I have 3 cats. I know what you are thinking and it’s actually not true. I’m fairly good looking, not some ugly old witch and I have a bunch of friends so I’m not lonely at all! Oh and yes I have a boyfriend! So how did I got to own three little rascals? Well, once upon a time I used to date this guy and we decided it was time to get a pet because we felt that we had reached that point in our lives. (in my defense I was only 19 and felt like a genuine adult) Gawd what was I thinking right? Anyway, I really wanted a black cat and I searched all around the web for months and months. Eventually we couldn’t find a black one and someone I knew just had a litter of kittens. So we drove up to her house in the countryside and we got a puny grey kitten and we named her Shiva. (my ex-boyfriend had a thing for Buddhism).
Shiva was just the most adorable thing in the universe and we’ve gotten along pretty well. She loved to get a tummy rub and she loved us because we gave her these and food.
After a week I couldn’t imagine my life without her and I had already forgotten that originally I longed for a black cat. One day my boyfriend picked me up from work and told me he had a surprise for me. I had no idea what he was talking about and when he parked the car in a rather creepy neighborhood in our city I didn’t know what to think. We got out and went into one of the houses. A nice looking hippie opened the door and welcomed us in. He showed us a litter of black kittens and my heart melted. This guy did not own a cat but every year one of the stray cats from the neighborhood would drop her kittens in his garden and he gave them to loving families in order to reduce the stray cat problem. I actually wanted all of them but my boyfriend forced me to pick one et voila a new member of the family came home with us. I named him Sushi because he is as black as the sushi rice papers. The first encounter between Sushi and Shiva was horrible. Sushi was extremely frightened and stayed in a corner all day. But after few days they became best friends and I was really happy with my two babies.

The years went by and me and the guy split up. The cats remained mine (well ofcourse what did he expect?) and I moved in with my best friend. Dana and me lived a glorious single life and we were home a lot which made the cats very happy. Sushi became my loyal watchdog-or cat- and Shiva was Dana’s loyal feline . Every time I had a male friend spend the night, Sushi was rather pissed off and didn’t sleep in my room for a few days. But yeah well.

After two years of single life I met my present boyfriend but he was allergic to cats. (worst scenario EVER) . Every time he came into my flat he had a severe allergic reaction and he was barely able to breathe without sneezing. But ofcourse after a while we wanted to move in together and he said that he would take some antihistamines and that it would work out. And it did!!!!! After a few months of suffering he was cured! Sushi did not really care for my boyfriend but Shiva did, she was absolutely in love! Joeri was even able to lift her up and pet her in his arms like a baby, something even Dana was never allowed to do!
So the months passed and Joeri hinted a few times that he really wanted a dog. A freaking dog. Look, it’s not that I don’t like dogs, I do. But not as my own pet. Dogs are like babies and I just don’t like babies. It’s as simple as a piece of cake. Soooo I decided I would have to demolish this need for a pup and I bought him a purebred cheetoh cat, because this cat would be the size of a small dog and you can teach him tricks like a dog. Brilliant plan right! Et voila in came cheeto scavenger the first!

And that my friends is how I got to own three cats!
